Family-owned winery founded in 1967 by Donn and Molly Chappellet on Pritchard Hill, high above Napa Valley — the valley's second new winery established after the repeal of Prohibition. Its pyramid-shaped winery building, designed with artist Ed Moses, and its pioneering high-elevation hillside Cabernet Sauvignon made Pritchard Hill famous; visited in an MSL field-trip segment.
