Chef and cookbook author who cooked for Martha Stewart's Westport catering company after graduating from the New York Restaurant School in 1981, then founded Foster's Market, the Durham, North Carolina gourmet cafe and market, in 1990. She returned to Martha's show to cook Southern dishes including her shrimp and grit cakes.
