Second-generation owner of Gilbertie's Herb Gardens in Westport, Connecticut (family firm founded 1922), one of the country's leading herb growers and author of several herb-gardening books. A Martha Stewart plant supplier for over 30 years, he appeared on Martha Stewart Living as its herb authority and later donated the plants for Martha's culinary herb garden exhibit at the New York Botanical Garden.
