Austin, Texas landscape architect who, with partner Gary Peese, ran the influential garden shop and boutique nursery Gardens for nearly three decades along with the design studio David/Peese Design. Their steeply terraced, plant-rich two-acre garden in Austin's Rollingwood neighborhood — developed over 36 years and a fixture of Garden Conservancy Open Days tours — was the private garden toured in MSL segments; the couple later relocated to Santa Fe, New Mexico.
