Passamaquoddy birch bark artist and canoe builder (1962-2017) from Pleasant Point, Maine, who revived traditional Wabanaki birchbark canoe-making, baskets, and winter-bark etching learned from his great-grandfather Sylvester Gabriel. He served on the board of the Abbe Museum in Bar Harbor, was named a Maine Arts Commission Traditional Arts Fellow, and won first prize for traditional basketmaking at the Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair.
